West Bengal plans auto component hub
The West Bengal government plans to set up an auto component hub at Guptamoni in West Midnapore district.
Stating that the government was trying to develop infrastructure, Sen said that the hub would come up on 500 acre.
With the Tatas setting up their small car plant in the state, Sen said that the auto sector would witness a boom.
He said that the state was receiving huge investments in the iron and steel sector, which was pegged at Rs 90,000 crore.
The government had submitted the proposal to the Centre, Sen said, referring to the chemical hub which was proposed to be set up at Nayachar in East Midnapore district.
He was speaking at an interactive session with a 16-member delegation organised by German Engineering Federation (VDMA) here.
The delegation represented various sectors like machine tools, chemical industry, software and other industries.
