Wake up to develop infrastructure to sustain growth momentum
One of the biggest challenges India facing was developing an infrastructure that could sustain the momentum of growth, a leading industrialist said on Friday.
Shortage of manpower was yet another challenge that could affect the economy through unavailability of industrial and entrepreneurial manpower, Harjeet Singh Wahan, Managing Director, ATS Elgi Ltd, said, while inaugurating 'Entrepreneurship Development Programme' (EDP) organised by CII, here.
Saying that the opportunities the SSIs have in India should not be understimated, he said that the need of the hour was specialization, as most of the specialised organisations in turn were small scale ones.
Though Indianx were by tradition and birth intelligent, the actual potential could only be realised for the last one decade.
The future of the country was entrepreneurship, the only sustainable model, as there was immense scope for an entrepreneur to explore into specialized activity of business, Wahan said.
Dr C Anandan, Director, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Textile Management, the knowledge partner of CII in this programme, made a detailed presentation on the programme.
Around 20 colleges have agreed to take part in this, where in the faculty members would be given orientation on EDP course designed by CII and the Institute, he said.
