USTDA today inked an agreement with the AP Government to develop infrastructure, communications and data systems in Vizag, in line with its goal to become a Smart City.

VISAKHAPATNAM: US Trade and Development Agency ( USTDA) today inked an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh Government to develop infrastructure, communications and data systems in Visakhapatnam, in line with its goal to become a Smart City.

The grant agreement was inked in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

"This cooperation is particularly timely as Vizag was recently announced as a winner in the first phase of the Government of India's Smart Cities Challenge.

"As an awardee of the Smart Cities Challenge, financing of Vizag's development and modernization efforts will be partially supported by the central government of the Republic of India," a statement issued on behalf of US embassy said.
