NEW DELHI: Trams may roll on the streets of Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk with Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation ( SRDC) likely to approve the project in its upcoming board meeting on Monday.

Representatives of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, which had earlier submitted a detailed project report, today gave a presentation to the AAP government detailing the specifics of the project.

"SRDC will hold its board meeting on Monday in which the project may be cleared," said a senior government official.

According to a DMRC official, they have proposed a 4.3 km tram-line in the congested Chandni Chowk area of which 1.6 km will have to be elevated due to lack of space.
