Task force set up to oversee major infrastructural projects
GANGTOK: A task force has been set up by the Sikkim government to execute some major centrally funded infrastructure projects being undertaken in the state, official sources said here today.

While these projects have been underway for several years, the purpose of the task force was to see that the projects were completed timely.

Most of these projects have been pending for a long time with little or no significant progress made.

All the infrastructure development projects that come under the terms of reference of this task force, headed by the Chief Secretary, are being funded by the central government and come under various central government ministries.

These projects include an airport at Pakyong, Sevoke to Rangpo railway link, construction of an alternate route to Sikkim from Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, etc.
