Stretch of National Inland waterways to be operational in 2012: Oomen Chandy

The much awaited Kollam-Kottappuram stretch of Kerala's National Inland waterways would become operational this year itself, Chief Minister Oomen Chandy said here today.

KOCHI: The much awaited Kollam-Kottappuram stretch of Kerala's National Inland waterways would become operational this year itself, Chief Minister Oomen Chandy said here today.

He was speaking at the valedictory session of the three day Inland seminar on 'the potential of Indian Logistics with special reference to Kerala'.

"Government is committed to giving all support and assistance to develop coastal and inland waterways," Chandy said.

The seminar was organised by Kerala state Productivity council and Falcon Infrastructures Ltd in association with Kerala government as part of 'Emerging Kerala' programme scheduled next month.
