SmartCity Kochi to complete infrastructure development by July 2015

KOCHI: SmartCity Kochi ( SCK), which recently received the environment clearance, is on the track to complete infrastructure development by July 2015 in the first phase, a top official of the project said today.

The company is targeting to complete 70 per cent of the roads required for the entire project spread in the first phase by July 2015 and the construction is in full swing, SCK CEO Gigo Joseph said.

Though the project is in the first phase of construction now, SCK has taken up the basic infrastructure developments of the entire project in this stage itself, he added

The project is scheduled to be complete by 2020. Infrastructure development of SCK has been phased in such a manner that the plots in the processing and non-processing zones of the SEZ are provided with road connectivity, power, water and communication as envisaged in the master plan, the company said in a statement.

Works for the supply of receiving and distribution of power, water, street lighting, data and communication connectivity are also under implementation.
