SCOPE says Budget to give boost to Infra sector

SCOPEsaid the Budget has made a breakthrough by proposing streamlining of multiple labour laws into a set of four codes.
NEW DELHI: Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), the apex body of central government-owned units said that the Budget 2019-20 outlines an ambitious framework for boosting overall economic and social development laying greater emphasis on rural and urban infrastructure.

“By committing Rs 100 lakh crore investment in infrastructure over next five years the Union Budget has given a substantial boost to the infrastructure, “ said UD Choubey, DG, SCOPE adding the public sector enterprises will have a greater onus in fulfilling Budget commitments in infrastructure sector

Choubey said the Budget has made a breakthrough by proposing streamlining of multiple labour laws into a set of four codes.


“Now the thrust goes to implementation part to see better results,” he added.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her maiden budget speech noted that for bringing better public ownership of the PSUs and also bring greater commercial and market orientation of the listed PSUs, the government will take all necessary steps to meet public shareholding norms of 25% for all listed PSUs and raise the foreign shareholding limits to maximum permissible sector limits for all PSU companies which are part of Emerging Market Index.
