Rs 285.75 cr for Jaipur's urban mission projects

JAIPUR: Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JNURM) will spend a sum of Rs 285.75 crores for five urban development projects in Jaipur, a Central government official said on Sunday.

Of this a solid waste management project worth Rs 13.19 crore and a sewerage project of Rs 74.95 crores were approved in the pink city, JNURM joint secretary and mission director M Rajamani told reporters here.

On the Bisalpur drinking water supply project for Ajmer city, he said, the first installment of Rs 24 crores has already been spent.

The demand for the release of IInd instalment of Rs 51.49 crore has been received from the central government, Rajamani said, adding it would be completed by September 2008.

Sewerage system and lakes revival in Ajmer and Pushkar was underway in the JNURM, he said, adding 12 such projects worth Rs 1618 crores were under preparation and would be submitted to the Centre in next month for approval.
