BHOPAL: An investment of more than Rs 25,000-crore would be made in the next four years on improving national highways in Madhya Pradesh under an action plan devised by the Centre at the initiative of the Union Minister for Surface Transport and Highways, Kamal Nath.

This was stated at a press conference here this evening by the Madhya Pradesh Congress president, Suresh Pachouri. He said that this was in sharp contrast to what had happened during the NDA rule.

He said that Madhya Pradesh was grossly neglected during the NDA rule and it had got only a small portion of the East-North corridor.

Pachouri said that under the action plan, highways having large traffic would have four lanes while other roads would have two lanes.
