Reliance Power the private sector power sector power company that has already bagged two ultrs mega power projects, Sasan and Krishnapatnam has already put in a bid for the Tilaiya project, sources close to the bidding process said.

Government-owned NTPC, Hyderabad based Lanco group, Jindal Power and the Sterlite group are likely to be other contenders for the project.

The Tilaiya project is the fourth ultra mega project being bid out--Industry sources said that the tariffs for this pit-head power project could be relatively higher than the Sasan project which saw a tariff of Rs 1.20 per unit.
