Ready-made infrastructure available in West Bengal: C M Bachhawat

CHENNAI: Wooing industrialists to invest in West Bengal, a senior government official of the eastern state said ready-made infrastructure was available in 40 industrial parks there.

"Infrastructure is available in more than 40 industrial parks, and this attracts enterprises from other states. Relationship managers contact the enterprises and expedite the clearance processes", West Bengal Commerce and Industry Additional Secretary C M Bachhawat said at a CII function here.

Noting that a "conducive environment" was available for making investments, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation ( WBIDC), Managing Director, Krishna Gupta said, the state government has formed a core committee comprising Ministers, government officials and Chambers of Commerce for expediting the process.

Referring to the Bengal Global Business Summit scheduled to be held from January 6-8 next year, he said, "the conference aims at attracting global and domestic investments and would provide deliberations with Government on investments in sectors like healthcare, Information Technology, education, energy".
