Postal dept to set up 40 Mail Business Centres in TN soon
The Department of Posts would soon commmission 40 Mail Business Centres in the Tamil Nadu circle, in addition to the existing ten centres, a top official of the department said on Monday.

TIRUCHIRAPALLI: The Department of Posts would soon commmission 40 Mail Business Centres in the Tamil Nadu circle, in addition to the existing ten centres, a top official of the department said on Monday.
Presiding over a function to install the 11th MBC here, he said the basic concept was to cater to the needs of bulk users of receipt as well as despatch of letter services. he claimed that the system has eliminated time delays, procedural wrangles and would assure door delivery and door pick up for designated customers.
"Through this unique system, the transmission time is reduced by short circuiting the sorting operation in the post offices and also ensures track and trace services,minimum response time, speedy redressal of grievances," he said.
The concept has gained momentum and so far seven centres in the western region, one each at Southern, Central and Chennai regions have been opened, he added.
