PM to inaugurate conference of CEOs of CPSEs

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will later this week inaugurate the conference of chief executives of central public sector enterprises.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will later this week inaugurate the conference of chief executives of central public sector enterprises that will discuss issues concerning these units and their role in the country's growth.

The Conference, to be held on March 8, is being organised by the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) and Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), an official release said here today.

Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Santosh Mohan Dev will also address the event that would debate on 'Empowering Public Sector for Growth'.

On this occasion, Singh will also present SCOPE Awards for excellence and outstanding contribution to Public Sector Management and MOU Awards for Excellence in Performance.

The Technical Session at the conference will be chaired by Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh while Management Advisor M B Athreya will make the theme presentation.
