Pepsico to run processing plant at Hoshiarpur in Punjab
Punjab Agro Juices Limited (PAJL) on Wednesday accepted Pepsico India's offer for running a plant in Hoshiarpur to process Kinnows, tomatoes and other horticultural products.
CHANDIGARH: Punjab Agro Juices Limited (PAJL) on Wednesday accepted Pepsico India's offer for running a plant in Hoshiarpur to process Kinnows, tomatoes and other horticultural products.
A formal agreement to this effect was signed by representatives of Pepsico India and PAJL in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here today, a statement said.
Pepsico said it would finalise the kinnow procurement plans by the first week of December and start its procurement from across Punjab from the end of December.
Pepsico also said it would soon initiate contract faming for tomatoes and other crops in the state, it said.
The Punjab government has set up a modern 400 MT per day processing plant at Hoshiarpur. A trial processing of kinnow, mosambi, tomatoes, mangoes and melons have already been carried out.
