SIVAGANGA: Union Minister for Road transport and Shipping Nitin Gadkari would lay the foundation stone for the four-lane Rs 1,387 crore road project between the temple town of Madurai and Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district this month end.

M Muthu Udayar, Project Director, National Highways Authority of India said the 75 km stretch was considered an important one in Tamil Nadu for four lane project after studying vehicle flow.

The four lane project would include seven road over bridges at important places including Thirubhuvanam, Manamadurai, Paramakudi and Tirupachethi.

The further stretch from Paramakudi would However be two lane wide roads.
