Nitin Gadkari to lay foundation for 4-laning highways, flyover in Andhra Pradesh

VIJAYAWADA (AP): Union Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari will lay foundation stone for four-laning of two national highways and a flyover on December 5, a Member of Parliament from the area said today.

"A flyover will be constructed near Benz circle in the city as part of the four-laning of the Vijayawada-Machilipatnam highway at an estimated cost of Rs 515 crore," Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas told reporters.

Four-laning of the road between Ibrahimpatnam and Tiruvuru will be carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 1,462 crore, he added.

"One flyover will be constructed to ease traffic near Kanaka Durga temple at an estimated cost of Rs 447 crores including land acquisition," the Srinivas said.

He said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaih Naidu will be present for the programme.
