GURGAON: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has approved the Haryana government's demand to have another national highway connecting Haryana to Rajasthan.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, while addressing the farmers at the three-day Haryana Agri Leadership Summit today, placed the demand for another highway before Gadkari.

Khattar said the state is connected with four national highways - NH 1, 2, 8 and 10 - and all these start from Delhi.

"But Haryana needs a national highway from Kothputli to Hansi via Narnaul, Mahendergarh and Dadri. This would open a new route. After crossing Hansi, it would get linked with NH-10.

"A new highway could be made from Kotputli to Ambala if the road from Hansi to Jind and the road from Jind to Kaithal are linked," the chief minister said in a statement.

Union Minister Gadkari gave an instant approval to it and asked the Haryana Government to send a proposal in writing.
