Niagara Infra ties up with FrameMax to introduce light steel

Niagara Infrastructure Engineering and Architecture (NIEA) on Friday said it has tied up with the US-based steel framing company FrameMax to introduce light steel structures for construction industry in India.

NEW DELHI: Niagara Infrastructure Engineering and Architecture ( NIEA) on Friday said it has tied up with the US-based steel framing company FrameMax to introduce light steel structures for construction industry in India.

"With the association, NIEA will become the first company in India to construct projects on light guage steel structures, which will transform the face of concrete building structures," the company said in a statement. NIEA offers pre-engineering solutions for pre-engineered buildings and civil works.

These structures will be more than three times the 'strength to weight' ratio of wood or concrete, it said adding that these structures will also perform better in seismic conditions due to lighter structure than concrete.

"With association with NIEA, we are entering India with this innovative technology and aim to create a benchmark in the construction industry," said President and CEO of FrameMax Phil Ellis.

The technology uses galvanised steel, which is rustproof, mould resistant and waterproof while the steel carries 50 years warranty against any form of corrosion.
