NEW DELHI:In a move to decongest the critical section of NH-24, which connects Delhi with Ghaziabad, Noida and several other NCR towns, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has floated tenders for 14-lane 28-km highway from Nizamuddin Bridge to Dasna in Western Uttar Pradesh.

According to NHAI, six of these 14 lanes (three on either side) will be an access control expressway while the remaining eight lanes (four on either side) will be normal highway. The stretch from Dasna to Hapur (11 km) on the highway will be widened to six lanes.

The cost of the project from Nizamuddin to Hapur (49 km) is expected to be around Rs 3,000 crore. The project will be divided into three different slices which will be awarded to concessionaires for construction on hybrid annuity model where government shares the risk.
