NEDFi bags special commendation prize for pavilion
North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi) has been awarded a special commendation prize in the PSU category for its pavilion at the just-concluded India International Trade Fair (IITF).

NEW DELHI: North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi) has been awarded a special commendation prize in the PSU category for its pavilion at the just-concluded India International Trade Fair (IITF).
The pavilion was branded as NEDFi Haat and the fabrication was done with bamboo, bamboo mats, sheetal patti and orchids with a wooden hornbill donning the facade, placed at the top of the entrance.
The designer of the pavilion was Labu Senapati.
Pavilion director Manoj Das said the objective behind NEDFis participation is to give exposure and marketing linkages to artisans, entrepreneurs, NGOs and SHGs of the northeast.
This time 35 units participated under the NEDFi banner. The products included varieties of dry flowers, handicrafts, hand woven clothes, bamboo and cane articles, processed fruits, natural stone items, bell metal items and dolls.
Das said apart from direct sale proceeds of about Rs 25 lakh at the event, the order in pipeline is estimated at about Rs 1.5 crore.
The NEDFi pavilion was awarded the gold medal at IITF 2005 and won the bronze medal last year.
NEDFi, established in 1985 as a funding agency for promoting industries and infrastructure, has now diversified its activities to rural development and helps entrepreneurs in showcasing their products at national and international trade fairs.
