Mumbai suburbs to get Rs 133 cr for development
The state government on Thursday announced a Rs 133 crore plan to improve water, health facilities and develop Sanjay Gandhi National parks in Mumbai suburbs.
MUMBAI: The state government on Thursday announced a Rs 133 crore plan to improve water, health facilities and develop Sanjay Gandhi National parks in Mumbai suburbs.
A decision to this effect was taken at a district planning and development committee meeting held at the Mantralaya today. The meeting was chaired by Guardian Minister Jayant Patil.
Patil told reporters that a plan of 133 crore has been sanctioned for the suburbs for the year of 2008-09.
He said, "these provisions will be directly included in coming budget and the implementation responsibility will be handled by district collector".
The Government will provide Rs 50 crore for improving water, health facilities. They have planned Rs 10 crore for cemeteries and Rs 16 crore to keep the suburbs clean.
This time the state has also made a provision of Rs 5 crore to Sanjay Gandhi National Park which can be utilised in repair work of mini train, Vanrani and the boundary walls.
The grant will help suburb citizents to tackle their problems, hoped Patil.
