MUMBAI: The Mukesh Ambani-led RIL's Mumbai SEZ on Monday announced a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation package for the project affected persons (PAPs), which involves both monetary and land options.
The R&R Package comprises three compensation options. As a first option, the company will allocate 12.5 per cent developed land in the proportion of the original land holding to the legal landholder.
The second option is a one-time down payment of Rs 5 lakh per acre of land originally sold, while the third option is a lifetime payment at the rate of Rs 5,000 per month. The package offers employment to one nominated family member of landowner and has provided two options.
The first option of training, employment and sustenance allowance provides for technical training to the nominated person plus sustenance allowance at the rate of minimum agricultural wages during the training period, that is Rs 60 per day per family.
On the successful completion of the training, the nominated person will be assured by the company of a job with a monthly salary of Rs 4,000-5,000. If training and employment option is not chosen, the second option is a one time payment of Rs 3 lakh per family.
The land prices offered by MSEZ are many times more than prescribed in the Ready Reckoner of the state government, it claimed. In case the award for land finalised by the state government is more than what the company sanctioned, the company would pay the difference in each individual case where agreements for sale under consent route have been executed.
About 1,000 acres have been purchased under the consent route, the company said, adding that these landlords too would be eligible for enhanced land compensation and R&R package.
