SHIMLA: With a view to boost infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh, Nabard has sanctioned 196 projects worth Rs 264 crore while 807 projects worth Rs 787 crore have been approved under Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), an official spokesman said on Monday.

He said the Himachal Pradesh government has speeded up the pace of development and accorded top priority for the construction of roads and bridges and 4900 kms new road length were constructed besides building of 241 bridges, providing connectivity to 285 villages.

Thirteen out of 3037 panchayats would soon be connected by motorable roads, he said.

The government had also decided to widen about 800 kms of roads under proposed World Bank assistance, the spokesman said.
