YAVATMAL (MAHA): Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation stone of road constructions works worth Rs 3,000 crore in the district on November 25.

"The works would cost the exchequer nearly Rs 3,000 crore. Gadkari has sanctioned a sum of Rs 2,873.15 crore for the construction and broadening of various roads and construction of bridges in Yavatmal district extending to 768 kms," Yavatmal MLA Madan Yerawar told reporters.

"He will lay the foundation stone of the road constructions work on November 25," Yerawar said.

Besides, the funds would be utilised for the construction of by-pass, roads in rural areas and construction of a bridge in Mahagaon-Umarkhed tehsils.

"This will generate job opportunity to the unemployed which would enable the administration to curb the spurt in farmers' suicide," he added.
