Kinfra initiates new food park

The Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) has initiated a food processing industrial park and small industries park at Adoor in Pathanamthitta district.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) has initiated a food processing industrial park and small industries park at Adoor in Pathanamthitta district.

The 85-acre park is being established with assistance from the Ministry of Small Industries and the Department of Food Processing Industries. Officials said the first phase development of the park was at its final stage.

The total project cost is Rs 17.30 crore, of which the Department of Food Processing Industries and the Department of Small Scale Industries will contribute Rs 4 crore and Rs 2 crore respectively, with the state government contributing the remaining Rs 11.30 crore.

The main objective of the scheme is to develop basic as well as specific infrastructure facilities needed for the easy start-up of food processing and small-scale industrial units, officials said.
