BANGALORE: Karnataka Government would set up a separate cell to focus attention on the infrastructure development of Bangalore, and issues relating to regularisation of unauthorised constructions and the Capital Value System (CVS) of property tax would be reviewed.

In his address to the joint session of the State Legislature, Governor Rameshwar Thakur noted that Bangalore has now become Greater Bangalore, and from 226 sq. kms, the municipal area has grown to 800 sq kms.

"Globally, Bangalore has gained in importance. Growth has also generated problems such as high traffic density, deficiencies in water supply and sanitation and pollution", he said.
