A team of Japanese officials met Naidu and evinced interest in financially aiding the development of the proposed state capital of Amaravathi.

Japan delegation expresses interest in Andhra Pradesh capital development
VIJAYAWADA: A team of Japanese officials today met Andhra Pradesh chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and evinced interest in financially aiding the development of the proposed state capital of Amaravathi.

The Japanese officials told the Chief Minister that they would come up with specific proposals to fund the development of AP's capital city through the Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC), it was officially announced here today.

The delegation also said they would come up with proposals to finance metro railway projects at Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada through the Japan International Co-operation Agency ( JICA), the office of the communications adviser to the state government said in a release.

Director of the South West Asia Office of Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) Ken Sasaji, Japanese Embassy's First Secretary Yasujiro Miyake as well as New Energy and International Technology Development Organisation's (NEDO) New Delhi office Chief Representative Dheeraj Kumar met Naidu to convey their willingness to participate in the development of Amaravathi, the release said.
