J & K govt spends Rs 15 crore on road upgradation project

The Jammu and Kashmir government will be spending Rs 15 crore for upgradation of 18 road projects in Budgam district.

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government will be spending Rs 15 crore for upgradation of 18 road projects in Budgam district, Minister of State for Roads and Buildings Mohammad Khalil Bandh said on Friday.

These projects are expected to be completed within next two years, he said while reviewing the ongoing development activities in the district.

Also, Rs 33.58 crore are being spent on eight road schemes under Prime Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana in Bandipora district, said District Development Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh.

Besides, four new roads are being constructed in the district during the current fiscal, Sheikh said.

He also asked for better coordination between all the working agencies engaged in the construction work so that it can be completed within the stipulated time.
