MUMBAI: IRB Infrastructure Developers has formed a consortium with Anil Ambani-led R-Infra to bid for the National Highway Authority (NHAI)'s Rs 5,134 crore project for six-laning of the Kishangarh-Udaipur link.

NHAI has floated bids for six-laning of the Kishangarh-Udaipur link, spanning over 558 kilometres, which passes through Gujarat.

"IRB and R-Infra have formed a 50:50 consortium to bid for the project. This is for the first time that we have formed such a consortium with any company," IRB Chairman and Managing Director Virendra Mhaiskar told PTI here today.

He said the consortium has submitted a Request for Qualification (RFQ) for the project.

Mhaiskar said that 13 other companies have also participated in the bidding process for the project so far.

The project, which will be taken up on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis, involves National Highways 79A, 79, 76 and 8, a major part of which pass through the outskirts of Ahmedabad.
