Internet network strengthened on Kedarnath Yatra route

Named "Local intranet network with Wi-Fi internet connectivity along Kedarnath trek route", the project was fully implemented by G-Max IT Services, the firm engaged for the job, in a record 15 days time, Rudraprayag District Magistrate Raghav Langer said.
Launched at Langer's personal initiative, the project has also been granted the ISO 9001:2008 certification, he said.
Conceived by the D M himself, the project aimed at creating a robust local wireless intranet network using point to point & point to multi point wireless hopping technique to connect all the major locations along the Kedarnath trek route, he said.
Langer who is also the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority said the bid for the project was floated in April this year after conducting a pre-feasibility survey with the help of district National Informatics Centre team.
The project covers an area starting from Sitapur, Sonprayag, Gaurikund, Junglechatti, Bheembali, Lincholi, Rudra point upto Kedarnath temple, he said.
Implementation of the project enables surveillance of all major locations & critical points along the yatra trek route, through a network of IP based cameras, hotline communication between yatra locations through SIP based IP phones and availability of wi-fi internet services to pilgrims at different locations along the route, he said.
