Infrastructure company IL&FS Engineering today said it has received a Rs 284 crore contract for RE works at Amedkarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh.

NEW DELHI: Infrastructure company IL&FS Engineering today said it has received a Rs 284 crore contract for rural electrification (RE) works at Amedkarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY).

"IL&FS Engineering and Construction company has received a Letter of Intent from Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam for RE works in Amedkarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh on turnkey basis under Government of India scheme of RGGVY phase -II," the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The total value of the contract is Rs 284 crore and the project completion period is 24 months, it said.

The company is already executing RE works for West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company and for Power Grid Corporation of India in Odisha.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 33.15 apiece, up 4.41 per cent on the BSE.
