HSIIDC earmarks Rs 1,449 cr for development

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has allocated Rs 1,449 crore for development of infrastructure in the current fiscal and will acquire land for various projects, including the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway.

HSIIDC has earmarked Rs 1,449 crore in the current fiscal to develop infrastructure, as against the Rs 841 crore in 2005-06 and Rs 206 crore in 2004-05, an official statement said on Thursday.

The corporation's operating profit increased to Rs 29.43 crore in 2005-06 from Rs 17.98 crore in 2004-05 and Rs 16.45 crore in 2003-04.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, reviewing the functioning of HSIIDC, said at the meeting that about 2,800 acre has been acquired for the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, while talks are on to acquire 500 acres more.

HSIIDC would also acquire land within and around NCR to set up new projects, the statement quoted him as saying.

Proposals within the NCR included acquiring 4,854 acres for IMT Manesar and its expansion, setting up a transport hub and residential complex, 2,563 acres for the Kundli-Rai complex, 941 acres for a petrochemical hub at Panipat and 1,832 acres to set up IMT at Faridabad.

Besides this, HSIIDC would also acquire land for new projects outside the NCR, which included 878 acres to set up IMT at Rohtak, 331 acres for expansion of Barwala project and 237 acres at Karnal.

The Chief Minister also reviewed progress made on other projects such as the Industrial Model Townships at Rohtak, Faridabad, Yamunanagar and Kharkhoda, Industrial Growth Centres at Bawal and Saha and the multi-functional Kundli-Rai complex, it said.
