HP to prepare data bank of village infrastructure

The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to conduct a survey of its villages to review infrastructural facilities available there and draw future plans to overcome the deficiencies.

SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to conduct a survey of its villages to review infrastructural facilities available there and draw future plans to overcome the deficiencies.

The survey, ordered by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, to prepare a comprehensive data bank of infrastructural conditions of all 17,495 villages and 3,243 panchayats in the state will be conducted by Economics and Statistical department from next week, Economic Advisor to the state government Pradeep Chauhan said.

The task will be completed in two months after which a detailed report would be submitted to the government for formulating appropriate development plans, he added.
