The Hinduja Group of companies has evinced keen interest in investing in Karnataka and plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in various projects in the state.

BANGALORE: The Hinduja Group of companies has evinced keen interest in investing in Karnataka and plans to invest Rs 1000 crore in various projects in the state.

Hinduja Group India Chairman Ashok P Hinduja and Hinduja Group of Company's President Dheeraj Hinduja, who called on Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in Mumbai on Sunday, expressed their willingness to invest in the areas of Power Generation, building Airports and Medi-Tourism projects, an official press release said here today.

The Chief Minister said that the government was ready to extend all help and support, provided the group was ready to invest in infrastructure projects like Power, Industrial Corridors and Tourism development, it said.

To the Hinduja group expressing its intention to build an international Convention Centre on the land owned by them near Yelahanka, Yedyurappa assured the government's full support in realising the project.

A team of representatives of Hindujas is expected to visit the State soon to hold discussion with government officials.
