Himachal Pradesh to get Rs 100 crore modern marketing yard

The district authorities have been directed to identify and earmark the land for the mandi, Dhumal said yesterday at the 92nd Raising Day Function of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank at Amb in Una district.
He said one such mandi was under construction at Parala near Kotkhai here and the two would go along way in facilitating the farmers to sell their agriculture produce within the state, near to their farms and fields.
He announced opening of a timber sale depot in the area and added that possibilities would be explored to open Gas and Oil depot of Indian Oil Corporation at Bhanjal.

He said that a provision of Rs 48.50 crore had been made to undertake channelisation on the river beyond Tahliwal towards Punjab and reiterated that Swan river channelisation was one of the top priority of the government and the promise made to the people had been fulfilled.
He lauded the achievements of the cooperative bank and said that the bank had earned deposits worth Rs 3,811.39 crore during last year and earned a profit of Rs 55.84 crore.
