Haryana raked good in PMGSY implementation

The Haryana State has been rated in 'Very Good' category throughout the country under all components in implementing Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna.

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana State has been rated in 'Very Good' category throughout the country under all components in implementing Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) under Bharat Nirman Programme and the State Government has received a sum of Rs 450 crore under phase-VII projects of PMGSY.

Stating this here on Sunday, the Haryana PWD (B and R) Minister, Capt Ajay Singh Yadav said that in respect of implementation for PMGSY phase-VII projects as many as 108 roads had been sanctioned under the scheme and the tenders for 74 roads had already been received and the work had been awarded. He said that for the remaining roads, tenders process was on.

Capt Yadav said that to make smooth the process of inviting tenders, a new e-tendering system had been implemented by the department for procuring all contracts under PMGSY phase-VII. He said that a sum of Rs 70 crore would be given by the government to meet the excess cost of phase V and VI works.

He said that the works of phase V and VI were near completion and the performance of the State Government on these works had been commended by Union Ministry of Rural Development.
