BEIJING: Making a strong pitch for investments from China, Haryana today offered large tracts of land for setting up a Chinese Industrial Park in the state with comprehensive facilities.

A high-level official delegation from Haryana, headed by S S Dhillon, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, held a seminar at the 5th China Overseas Investment Fair here offering land, power and other necessary infrastructure for the Chinese to build a comprehensive industrial Park.

Haryana, along with Delhi and Maharastra, is making a strong bid for the Chinese Industrial Park to step up investments in India.

A Chinese delegation has already visited the three states but yet to decide where it would set up the Park.

The Park was part of China's efforts to invest heavily in India to address the trade imbalance which has touched about USD 30 billion.

Harayna, which forms part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, already has a Japanese industrial park and is offering similar facilities to China.

Addressing the seminar, Deputy Ambassador of India to China, B Bala Bhaskar highlighted the successful visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here in October during which the two sides expressed keen interest in Chinese Industrial Parks in India.

While the India-China partnerships transcended from the bilateral level to global arena successfully, the state governments in India are taking big initiatives to invite overseas investment.

States like Haryana are offering single window clearance of all investment proposals above Rs 100 crore, he said.
