GPT Infraprojects to sell wind power business

KOLKATA: GPT Infraprojects is looking to sell, transfer or otherwise dispose off its wind power business. The company's wind power business comprises wind turbine generator based power plants each having 1.25 MW capacity and located at Irukkandurai, Tamil Nadu.

The company also intends to reclassify or restructure its authorised share capital to Rs 50 crore divided into 5,00,00,000 equity shares of Rs 10 without increasing the overall share capital. The company's board has, in its last meeting held earlier this month, approved borrowing upto Rs 700 crore instead of Rs 450 crore as presently authorised.

Incidentally, GPT Infraprojects is the flagship of GPT Group and operates primarily in two division - the sleeper division and the infrastructure division.
