Govt clears 10 road projects for Rs 10,507 cr

A committee on public private partnership on Monday cleared as many as 10 road projects worth an estimated Rs 10,507 crore.

NEW DELHI: A committee on public private partnership on Monday cleared as many as 10 road projects worth an estimated Rs 10,507 crore.

The Public-Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC), chaired by Finance Secretary D Subbarao, involves four-laning of national highways, an official statement said.

The four-laning projects which have been cleared include Pune - Sholapur section of NH-9 in Maharashtra involving an an estimated cost of Rs 922.47 crore, Coimbatore-Mettupalayam section of NH-67 in Tamil Nadu involving Rs 499.82 crore and Patna-Buxar section in Bihar Rs 1,619.83 crore, it added.

Other projects which have been cleared are Khagaria - Bhaktiarpur in Bihar, Goa-Panaji, Kuttipuram-Edapally in Kerala and Armur-Adloor Yellareddy section in Andhra Pradesh.

The Appraisal Committee also cleared four-laning of Muzzafarnagar-Nepali farm section of NH-58 in Uttar Pardesh and Uttrakhand from Nepali to Dehradun.

Four-lane elevated road project also includes work on the Chennai port to Maduravoyal (NH4)in Tamil Nadu at an estimated cost of Rs 1,345.14 crore has also been cleared.
