The government today approved three road projects, costing Rs 3,597 crore, for Haryana, West Bengal and Jharkhand.

NEW DELHI: The government today approved three road projects, costing Rs 3,597 crore, for Haryana, West Bengal and Jharkhand.

"The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure ( CCI) today approved the implementation of the project of six laning of 122.880 Km long Barwa Adda - Panagarh section on NH-2 in the States of Jharkhand and West Bengal," an official statement said.

The total project cost is estimated at Rs 2,083.65 crore and the concession period would be 20 years, including a construction timeframe of 30 months.

The toll project is under NHDP Phase V on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer mode.

Besides, the CCI approved a project of four-laning of Barasat - Krishnagar Section of NH-34 in West Bengal, under NHDP Phase III on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) on the 'Annuity' mode.

The total project cost is estimated at Rs 997 crore and its concession period would be of 17 years, including the construction period of 30 months.

The Cabinet Committee also gave nod for two-laning, with paved shoulders, of Ambala-Kaithal section of NH-65 in Haryana under NHDP Phase III on DBFOT, toll mode.

This DEFOT project is estimated to cost Rs 516.69 crore. "The concession period of the project shall be for 16 years including a construction period of 30 months," the statement added.
