GDA to spend Rs 167 cr on metro project

The Ghaziabad Development Authority will spend Rs 167 crore to construct a 2.05-km long metro rail track.

GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) will spend Rs 167 crore to construct a 2.05-km long metro rail track in the Uttar Pradesh district, a top official said on Wednesday.

GDA vice chairman S K Dwivedi said the proposed metro service will connect Kaushambi, Vaishali, Indirapuram and Vasundhara colonies here with the national capital.

He said the services will be later extended up to Ghaziabad city.

However, sources in the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said the metro line to Ghaziabad is still under consideration.
