Gadkari approves Rs 1,155 cr two highway upgradation projects in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh

In a proactive move to enhance road infrastructure and promote economic growth, road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari approved two highway projects with cumulative investments of Rs 1155.86 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

These include Rs 252.42 crore project in Andhra Pradesh for the upgradation and development of a six-lane elevated corridor at Ranasthalam, Srikakulam and Rs 903.44 crore upgradation and development of the Gyaraspur to Rahatgarh section of national highway-146 in Madhya Pradesh.

“The Andhra Pradesh project will be instrumental in alleviating traffic congestion, enhancing road safety, and improving urban mobility, while also creating new socio-economic opportunities,” the minister tweeted.


“Beyond reducing congestion, this initiative will stimulate economic activities, thereby contributing to an improved quality of life for the region’s residents,” he said.

“The Bhopal-Kanpur corridor will strengthen regional trade and commerce, promote connectivity, and enhance the overall quality of life by boosting economic activities,” he tweeted.

These initiatives underline the government’s commitment to enhancing road infrastructure, improving connectivity, and encouraging economic development across the regions, the ministry said in a statement.
