New Delhi: The government is mulling ways to give private sector companies access to data on its project planning portal PM Gati Shakti, industry secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia said Tuesday.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is exploring options such as giving access to companies through API or directly working on the platform.

Bhatia said it will soon come out with detailed guidelines regarding sharing of certain data and maps.

"Let us wait for the detailed guidelines to come out soon, quickly. I am hopeful as this is a budget announcement," he said.

PM Gati Shakti national master plan is a government portal for integrated and planned development of critical infrastructure projects to reduce logistics costs.

"For furthering PPPs (public-private partnerships) and assisting the private sector in project planning, access to relevant data and maps from the PM Gati Shakti portal will be provided," finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said in her budget speech.
