Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway running 2 yrs behind schedule

The Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway is running behind schedule by two years due to non-availability of land and value additions desired by the governments of Delhi and Haryana, the Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway is running behind schedule by two years due to non-availability of land and value additions desired by the governments of Delhi and Haryana, the Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

In written reply to a query, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways K H Muniyappa said Delhi-Gurgaon section of National Highway-8 was scheduled for completion by July 2005.

"But due to non-availability of land and value additions as per recommendation of the governments of Delhi and Haryana, the scheduled completion has been extended to December this year."

In reply to another query, Muniyappa said about 96 per cent of Golden Quadrilateral has been completed till now while four-laning has been completed in North-South and East-West corridors on 1,390 km while work was on in 4931 km.
