NEW DELHI: The Delhi Cabinet on Monday gave its nod to a Rs 152 crore project to construct storm-water drain from Mahipalpur Chowk to Najafgarh drain.

"We approved allocation of money to the drainage project from Mahipalpur to Najafgarh," Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit told reporters after the meeting and added construction would soon begin.

All colonies and villages around Kapasheda would be covered under the project as they face severe drainage problems. Besides, the Airport Colony would also be covered and benefit from it.

Work on the project would be divided into two phases. On drainage problems and water-logging on broken roads, Development Minister Rajkumar Chauhan said it is the job of either the PWD or the MCD to improve roads.
