Competitive bidding is likely to be floated for international companies to invest in the proposed Financial City near Chennai by this month end, a top government official said on Tuesday.

CHENNAI: Competitive bidding is likely to be floated for international companies to invest in the proposed Financial City near Chennai by this month end, a top government official said on Tuesday.

"For the Financial city development, we will be giving advertisements for inviting companies to take up around 25 acres of land at the Financial City", said Rajeev Rajan, Principal Secretary, State Industries department at the sidelines of a function in Chennai.

The Financial City is one of the dream projects of Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin,who also holds the industry porfolio

On the proposed Country specific Industrial Park near Vallam in Sriperumbudur, he said Japan has come forward to set up industrial units in the Park.

The Park, he said, would only focus on the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
