Centre to discuss industrialisation of Bihar

To promote industrialisation in Bihar, the Centre said the steps could be discussed with the CM, MPs from the state and officials of the Heavy Industries Ministry.

NEW DELHI: To promote industrialisation in Bihar, the Centre today said the steps could be discussed with the Chief Minister, MPs from the state and officials of the Heavy Industries Ministry.

"We are ready to work for development of Bihar," Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Minister Praful Patel said during Question Hour.

Patel said that after deliberations in the ministry, a group was constituted to suggest ways for industrialisation of Bihar.

He pointed that the ministry does not allocate funds to states.

"Consequently, no funds have been given and spent in Bihar by the Ministry... and its various organisations during the last three years and the current year," he said.

Replying to a query if around 134 million Indians suffer from chronic sinusitis, Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said there is no authentic data on the illness in India.

He said there are no comprehensive studies on reasons for high prevalence of sinusitis in India.

Azad said pollution and diesel exhaust from factories, coal and petroleum were among common factors associated with high incidence of sinusitis in people working in factories.
