Centre sanctions Rs 143 cr for road repairs in UP

The government today sanctioned Rs 143 crore under the Central Road Fund Scheme for carrying out various road repair works in Uttar Pradesh.

NEW DELHI: The government today sanctioned Rs 143 crore under the Central Road Fund Scheme for carrying out various road repair works in Uttar Pradesh.

Of the total money approved by Minister for Road Transport and Highways T R Baalu, a sum of Rs 24.30 crore would be utilised for widening and strengthening of Chaudgra-Bindki-Lalauli road in Fatehpur district while Rs 10.78 crore would be used for improving Bahuwa-Chilla Ghat stretch, also in the same district.

It said Rs 5.59 crore has been approved for widening and strengthening of Mathura-Sadabad Road in Hathras district while Rs 1.25 crore has been approved for widening 12 km of Tundla-Etah Road of SH-31 in Firozabad district.

The remaining money would be utilised for widening and strengthening various stretches in Ambedkar Nagar, Jalaun, Balrampur, Moradabad, Raibareli and Sultanpur districts, it said.
