This is yet another step by the government to improve the communication in the Northeast & Assam and help smoothen transport between the banks of the Brahmaputra.
The new bridge will also play a significant role in giving momentum to the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.

The bridge will be built jointly by the Indian railways and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), he had told.
